Cognitive Science
Test 3 / 2006
Modified:
4/11/2006
Instructions: Due before 2:10 p.m., Tuesday, April
18.
Answers should be legible (i.e., not hand written), complete,
thoughtful, and articulate. You may consult with me via e-mail as you
develop your answers (probably a good strategy). Shoot for at least
one page per question and do not simply copy and paste answers. Use
quotes to indicate sources you found elsewhere and provide URLs or
references where appropriate. Failure to
properly cite sources may lead to a grade of zero for that
item!
1. Discuss the history and implementation of hypermedia. Then, use a
specific example to illustrate how hypermedia works in teaching.
2. Define AI. Then, show how your definition relates to an AI area
that has shown success and to an AI area yet to show success.
3. How is usability testing conducted. Find a specific example of
usability testing from the World Wide Web and summarize it. Was their
testing conducted well? Why or why not?
4. Look at www.saumag.edu. Make 5 practical suggestions on how SAU's
page could have better usability.
