1. Why is the language of the honey bees so interesting to cognitive
scientists? Describe the basics of von Frisch's research and Gould's
modern follow up of bee language. What is the most remarkable thing
about bee language?
2. What is the World Wide Web? How does Jakob Nielsen see the Web
changing over the next few years? What has happened to the Web in the
last three years?
3. What is "fuzzy logic?" Who invented it? What makes it different
from Aristotlean and Boolean logic? Give an example of fuzzy logic in
action.
4. Describe the structure of spoken language. Be sure to include:
phonology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. How does linguistics
relate to language?
