Cognitive Science
Test 3 / 2004
Modified:
4/6/2004
Instructions: Due before 2:10 p.m., Tuesday, April
13.
Use the CS main page, pages you find on your own, and e-mail sent
to you as the source for your answers. You may submit your answers as
hard copy or as e-mail (either as straight e-mail or as a Word
attachment). Choose the method with which you are more
comfortable.
Answers should be legible (i.e., not hand written), complete,
thoughtful, and articulate. You may consult with me via e-mail as you
develop your answers (probably a good strategy). Shoot for at least
one page per question and do not simply copy and paste answers. Use
quotes to indicate sources you found elsewhere and provide URLs or
references where appropriate. Failure to
properly cite sources may lead to a grade of zero for that
item!
1. Go to the TOG page on interaction design and pick five of his
principles to explain. Relate those principles to the SAU main Web
page: www.saumag.edu. How does SAU's page fare according to the
principles you picked?
2. What is a hypertext? How does hypertext differ from hypermedia?
Again, using the SAU main page, illustrate how hypermedia concepts
are used on that page.
3. Discuss robotics as AI. Is robotics always AI? Why or why not.
Give two examples supporting your answer.
4. Look at www.google.com's interface. Is it usable? Why or why not?
(Hint: be sure to explore beyond the first page of this
interface.
